Jack Kligerman is Professor Emeritus and past Chair of the Department of English at Lehman College, where he also taught courses in black and white photography and the History of Photography. He received his B.A. and M.A. in English and American Literature from Syracuse University and his Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1967. He has written about American Literature, photography, and nature, and his photographs and essays have appeared in The Structurist (University of Saskatchewan), New Jersey Outdoors, Organic Gardening, Horticulture, Smithsonian, and a variety of academic journals. He currently lives in Bozeman, Montana.
